Avoid custom controls and delays

Fasteris team is glad to help you preparing your parcel and the necessary documents to ship your samples to our laboratory, avoiding annoying and potentially harmful delays at customs.

DNA or RNA samples

For the shipment of purified genetic material (DNA/RNA samples), we have prepared a standard proforma invoice that can be found in the 4th sheet of the order form file, provided with the quote.

The proforma invoice contains all the required information:

Description/Value of the material.
Genesupport/Fasteris EORI number: CHE-110.264.966
Harmonized Tariff number for nucleic acids (2934.99.91).

The proforma invoice is pre-filled by Fasteris team, and only needs to be printed out and enclosed in the parcel.

Please note this proforma invoice must be printed in 3 copies, signed and easily available for customs (e.g. into a plastic folder for documents, glued to the outside of the parcel).

Tissues, cells or other materials.

Because of the great variability of source materials that we receive to make DNA/RNA extraction, we cannot use a pre-filled standardized proforma invoice.

Therefore, you must prepare it yourself.

The conditions are the following:

The right Harmonized Tariff number
Total value of the parcel of around 10 Euros
Our EORI number is: CHE-110.264.966
Proforma invoice must be printed in 3 copies and signed and easily available for customs.

Samples requirements

The type and quantity of starting material varies based on the type of services of your choice. Please refer to the corresponding service description to find out about quantity and type of material needed.

All samples must be normalized at the same requested concentration and quality. Please note that Fasteris charges an extra fee if your samples needed standardization, as it is an additional service.

Samples containers

For batches with more than 8 samples, you must encompass them in a 96-wells plate in column-wise, (A:1, A:2, […], A:12, B1:2, B:2 ect..), as showed in the picture here and closed with 8-Caps strip except for ethanol precipitated samples and tissue).

Fasteris applies extra fees if samples of batch > 8 samples are supplied not encompassed in 96-wells plates.

Shipping methods

Depending on the type of material, please ensure that samples will be shipped in the optimal conditions:

Total DNA samples can be shipped at room temperature.
Total RNA samples and purified RNA fractions must be shipped in dry ice or in RNA-stabile solutions. For all the parcels shipped from countries outside of Switzerland, please make sure the shipment company of your choice ensures the delivery to us and the parcel will be not retained at the border.
Ready-to-Run (RTR) libraries can be shipped at room temperature.
Tissues or materials for extraction must be shipped frozen on dry ice or in storage solutions.

Fasteris does not take any responsibilities about shipment organization, costs and delivery. Therefore, the client is fully in charge to ship samples accordingly to our requirements, following the courier’s guidelines of his choice.

Documents to enclose

Together with your samples, please enclosed into the parcel a paper copy of the OrderForm, compiled with all the necessary information (Contact - lab leader - billing address - Purchase Order number - sample names - organism - concentration – volume).

An electronic version of the completed OrderForm form must be sent by email once you inform us about the samples shipment. Please note that the OrderForm is mandatory for the samples registration – if this document is missing, the project is kept on hold.

Delivery address

Samples must be delivered to our headquarter in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva (CH).

Samples must be shipped within opening hours, from 8:30 to 17:00, Swiss Time, except during Geneva (CH) bank holidays
