The expertise in extracting genetic material (DNA, RNA) is decisive for the quality of the final sequencing result. This step is particularly sensitive given the very diverse nature of the samples. Thanks to our experience in medical diagnostics, we offer a range of solutions for extracting nucleic acids from a wide variety of samples.

We favor an automated approach by purification on columns in order to reduce the possible presence of inhibitors and increase reproducibility. In order to eliminate contamination, by default, RNA extracts are treated with DNase. Depending on the project, the DNA extracts are treated with RNase A. For each extract, fluorescence quantification is performed. The quality of the RNAs is evaluated by electrophoresis on Bioanalyser type instruments. The quality of the DNAs is evaluated by electrophoresis on agarose gel. The extraction results are provided to you before starting the process of preparing the NGS libraries.

For new studies, we strongly recommend doing an extraction pilot project. The conditions of sample processing are then jointly discussed between you, the sales and the R&D teams. We can also modify our standard extraction protocols if you want to keep the same conditions used for a previous study.
